Any idea when this shortage will be resolved, anyone?
Use email or post a letter to ask the retailers, they would know more than us.0 -
It'll be meat next and fruit and stuff you didn't even know used CO2.
People will just have to learn to go without for a bit. We've done it before. In my youth we had spud shortages, butter shortages, sugar ... all sorts - even daily power cuts of 6 hours as there wasn't enough electricity.
If something's not available and there are other things that are available, you have to either go without or choose what is available.
No fizzy pop ... drink juice or squash, or anything....
No meat ... it won't hurt to not eat it for a few weeks....
No beer.... start brewing your own today......
There are alternatives; nobody will starve or die of thirst.
When I was growing up, fizzy drinks were what you only got in Xmas week - as a treat.0 -
Most of the CO2 suppliers are back up and running now, but it will take a couple of weeks for the most popular products to return to full availability, and another couple for the more niche products to go back into production.0

Some of Tesco!!!8217;s own brand carbonated drinks are also affected by a shortage due to a factory fire.
Thank you for that info. I thought with the shortage that T had pulled all their cheaper drinks to flog us the expensive stuff.
I really like T orange zero, I've not seen it for over a month, I only have a T Express though.0 -
It's not just Tesco, various retailers use Prince's to produce their own label carbonated drinks and also squash/cordial.
The shortage is exacerbated by the hot weather causing higher than normal demand (there would likely be some availability problems even if production was running as normal).0 -

Strange as my Aldi had more than its normal amount of fizzy cola but hardly any squash!!!!

Since this thread's popped up again.
Yesterday in 4ldi a staff member was moving a full high-stacked pallet of Pepsi into position on the shop floor. It was much taller than me. 2 litre bottles.

Pepsi will be desperate to claw back market share, since Coke has weathered the CO2 shortage much more successfully.0 -
If we didn't have this hot weather, then the shortages wouldn't been as huge. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I can imagine all the dentists praying the shortage of fizzy, sugar-filled, teeth-rotting drinks will continue, and they will not have to extract children's teeth before they are even teenagers!0
