after some advice, looking to buy my parents property right to buy has been accepted and figure submitted, mortgage accepted via Natwest, one slight problem as my parents are both 67 and I am not on the tenant agreement albeit lived in the property for 9 years the bank won't sanction a mortgage as they will only accept people up to the age of 70, and the housing association won't change the letter details to just me with not being named on the tenancy, any help would be appreciated if anyone knows of a way around it.
Many thanks

So you want to buy your parents' council property via RTB, even though you're not named on their tenancy agreement and the housing association won't fraudulently say you are...?

Why should they do that?poppy100 -
What's going to happen to your parents? They will lose their secured tenancy, you will start picking up the tab for repairs
At least in this case this is not going to happen, what advantage will you have with RTB?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

The advantage being selling the house in a couple of years for a Brucey bonus?? Let's hope this doesn't proceed as parents will lose all security in their old age.An answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0

You don't really have any options. Your parents have the right to buy, not you, you can only make a joint application with them because you're currently living in the property with them. As it's their right it's their discount so they will need to be named on the mortgage except at 67 it will be difficult to find a lender who will grant them a mortgage.0
