This year's Summer Reading Challenge starts in libraries across England and Wales this coming Saturday. This year's theme is Mischief Makers and features the characters from The Beano. This also links in well with the hugely popular 'Dennis and Gnasher Unleashed' on CBBC. The challenge has already started in Scotland (sorry, not sure of the dates for NI).

The challenge involves reading six library books across the Summer. At the start of the challenge children receive a Beanotown poster. This contains a series of clues, as the child reads their books and visits the library, they receive stickers which help solve the mystery. Prizes may vary by authority, but for completing the challenge children receive a medal, a Beano themed wristband and a certificate.
