Claiming PPI on an account that has been closed
Options
I know there is at least one loan that I have paid PPI on, trouble is it was consolidated (I know bad news!) and when it was I shredded the paperwork, I can pick out the date the finance was taken out from credit history but how do I get the companies to supply details of the loan or credit card, things like the account number etc?
Thanks in anticipation.
I know I should be grateful I have my First Plus PPI but I know there are smaller ones I paid too - apologies for sounding greedy.

Hi
How can it be greedy if it was your money in the first place?
Yes you can claim after the event.
Under normal circumstances for complaint you would have six years. There are certain issues that carry no time limit at all. You could go back to the year dot. It really depends on what you are actually challenging.
Sadly that also means that you need to know how and what to challenge.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -

That is the problem I have I don't have the account numbers, which is a bit of a downer!0

If you ring the company they should provide you with the account numbers.
It is almost impossible to get the lenders to do anything without the account number.
nikk. If your debt is now with a collection company it is still live. The account details must be available. You need to SARN the lender. If the lender or the debt collection company cannot provide a copy of the agreement they cannot enforce it.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
