I'm not sure this is in the right place so feel free to move it .
I know that you only start paying national insurance when you earn over £162 a week but I also know there is a lower threashold where you don't pay NI but it is still counted towards your eligible years . Could anyone tell me what the lower threshold is ?
Due to having to cut hours at work I will now be earning £158 a week but don't want this to affect my eligible years towards my pension .

Class 1 LEL is £116 per week, so you will get the NI credits at £158 per week.
