I just have a cheap one from Lidl , had it a few years and readings seem consistant with those taken at the Gps
Only downside to it, its blooming loud
I also have a little app on my phone with which I record all my readings to show at my 6 monthly checkup0 -
Got mine straight away, but 24hsis a pain as it wakes you up with a beep. Bought a £15 one from e bay seems ok.0

I have an Omron upper arm blood pressure meter. They are well considered and often used by Doctors surgeries. Most are credited for being within a margin of error which is acceptable.
Be aware of white coat hypertension! That is where your blood pressure rises when a Doctor is present taking your blood pressure. I noticed this in my results because they were always substantially higher than the ones taken at home. 140+/90's compared with 89/49 lowest, which is correct and expected to be low. I have checked my meter on my brother which gave a far more normal result.
There are some enzymes (3) which can help remove arterial plaque which might help to lower blood pressure. One is made from fermented soya beans and two others are produced by Silkworms and another by Earthworms. Some of these can affect blood clotting and the first does have some slight BP lowering effect, therefore you would need to okay these with your doctor before seriously considering them.0 -
Beetroot significantly lowers blood pressure too.0

Another vote here for omron, make sure you get an upper arm one and not a wrist one as you need to hold your arm up to get an accurate reading which I found awkward.0

I've got a Boots one.
Cost me £20. :cool:0 -
I got a Kinetik brand monitor from Argos- £19.99. It has a universal cuff (22-42cm) which is latrger than some available.
Readings = those taken at surgery.
Produced in association with St John Ambulance
Very easy to use.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything! --
Many thanks
