LGPS Pension - Contingent Partner Pension

Hi

One for the LGPS experts, if they do not mind.

As part of my wife's small LGPS there is an element/entitlement for a 'contingent partners pension' after her death (assuming she has already retired).

Is there anyway to decline the partners pension (after death) in return for a slightly larger pension?

I understand why 'partner pensions' can be valuable but I would be prepared to loose this benefit for a slightly larger pension for my wife.

No. Your wife could transfer out to a defined contribution scheme and can then decide what 'shape' her retirement benefits will take, but that may not be to her (or your) advantage.
