Digging about on the net last night I found that Cold Power in Australia and Arctic Power in Canada were the same thing. The company got taken over by a German company who seem to have made changes to the formula that resulted in a lot of users complaining of bad smells in their laundry within the past couple of years.
ETA, biological powders don't function properly at high temperatures so they won't work properly on cottons in a 'boil' wash. We never wash higher than 40 degrees and don't end up with sweaty stuff coming out smelly.Make £2025 in 2025

May be that the washing machine needs a service wash? It's good to run a 90 degree wash once a month or so to keep the machine clean and free of gunk etcSignature Removed by Forum Team ..thanks to somebody reporting a witty and decades-old Kenny Everett quote as 'offensive'!!0 -
For really smelly gym gear I soak in milton solution so its sterile! My partner does alot of training and I find if hes doing long runs (11 miles plus) his sweat smells different and my normal wash just doesnt cut it! Dont know why he smells different!0

Haven't found a good liquid yet. We're in a hard water area because all our water comes from a spring, in chalk. Mr Stepford bought some washing machine cleaner last week so we'll be giving that a go. We use Comfort Professional fabric conditioner, which we got from b&m. None on towels, bedding or underwear, we use Dettol Laundry Cleaner. I buy in bulk when it's on special offer. We wouldn't do a cold wash unless specified on garment care label.
I would rather whack the temperature up and kill the bacteria, I have to say. Increased heating doesn't bother me as we use a variety of airers and garden washing line so no tumble dryer. We only iron shirts, trousers, t-shirts and skirts, as well.0
