SIPPS - overseas income

I am (now) resident in the UK for tax purposes and am receiving income from overseas in the form of a pension (the pension is worth c. 100k per annum). The pension is assessable taxable income in the UK but is actually taxed in the country of origin (there is a double taxation agreement between the two countries)

My question is - can I make SIPP contributions in the UK and claim tax relief?
Money won't buy you happiness....but I have never been in a situation where more money made things worse!

"Normally", assuming this is your only income, you can make SIPP contributions of £2,880 per year.
You cant add any more as you have no income from earnings. Pension income is not counted as earnings for purposes of pension contribution.
