lost - and found...

All this talk of pensions with my niece and I remembered I took out a 'personal pension' back in 1992 - I didn't pay into it for long (I had been self employed and then became an employee and paid into that pension instead) and having now found the paperwork and tracked down the provider - I'm left with a pension with just a few hundred pounds in it. I have just over10 years until my state pension age. Do you think it would be worth picking up this old one again and contributing to it? I have a LGPS I currently pay into. Can you pay into 2 at the same time?

Yes, you can pay into more than one pension at any time (usual limits apply in terms of maximum contributions on which you will get tax relief).

Old style personal pension contracts tend to be heavy on charges and light on choice of funds, flexibility (usually next to none) in terms of how you take your benefits. See if the provider offers a more modern contract to which you could transfer without penalty.

A 1992 product. how do you think that compares with a 2018 product?

(to be fair not all old products are out-of-date. However, until you compare, you wont be sure).
