Delay repay when more than one person is travelling

Options
I bought two single advance tickets from Southern Railways website for a train that was cancelled. The replacement train running from a different station was itself twenty minutes late and terminated before it reached its intended destination necessitating a further change of train. My partner is disabled which is why I specifically chose a direct route. Southern Railways delay repay scheme states that I can only claim for my journey and that my partner needs to claim separately for hers even though both tickets were purchased in one transaction. The site states that I can only claim for someone else if that person is a child. Is this correct?

Please excuse double post but it was suggested that I post this as a new thread.

I suggest you read the answer to "How do I make a claim on behalf of my children or other members of my family if we travelled together?" on their delays & compensation FAQ page

While that FAQ might say it allowed, I can tell you from recent experience one will be accepted and one rejected as a duplicate, even when you specify different ticket numbers!

So if want less hassle, create a seperate account and make seperate claims, but you have to enter the details twice.

When this happened to my daughter and her disabled partner, due to train cancellation on Virgin West Coast, delayed over 2 hours, she sent them a written letter with the relevant tickets, and the evidence of the actual journey, and they sent back the full refund of the return fare.
Submission via the website was impossible for the circumstances.
