    Being asked by whom?

I interview from time to time and I've never seen a photo on anyone's CV. I don't work in the beauty industry though!

As for the number of pages - keep it to two ideally - very brief synopsis on older jobs unless really relevant to the roll you are applying for, only include detail on he last 2 or 3 years/rolls.

Thanks for info - one agency is asking for photo and dob to go on cv - I think they take your cv and then make their own from it to send to employers. It's private households and estates industry - I do live in housekeeping.
  • Worked for coming up to 42 years straight. Only had 3 jobs. My CV can be done on 1xDuplex A4 sheet. Only started with current Blue Chip employer 2 years ago. CV wasnt a problem.

I’m interested in making my resume one page.... no one gives a hoot about Alevels and also hobbies, plus I’m guessing you didn’t put an into?

We wouldn't follow any links on a CV - linkedin or anything. Simply because for us the interview is a structured and objective process. We are sometimes asked to provide feedback to the candidate, which can be easily provided openly and honestly as its based on their CV and performance at interview, nothing else.

Is this a UK company? Photos are not usual in the UK, but are in some other countries, and different countries have different expectations.

Putting lots of jobs on needs care to avoid repetition.
Thanks, Yes it's UK - small old school recruitment agency

Mine's on two sides - no photo or date of birth. They can take a rough stab at my age from the degree dates if they're that bothered.

I've had several of the earlier jobs amalgamated into one brief paragraph so it's only the last job with much detail as I was applying for similar roles.
The professional qualifications take up a bit of space. And I've just re-read my key skills bit (from a couple of years ago) and thought "what a load of bollox" - did the trick though. I was given advice by a recruitment consultant paid for by my redundancy insurance company, and two pages was it. Apparently millenials in recruitment agencies have a very short attention span.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Part of my job is delivering CV writing and whilst they suggest you keep to two pages because that's as much as the employer will read when sending for interview. It is however dependent upon the job you're applying for. An employer will spend more time selecting for a high profile job which means you can include more information. That doesn't mean they are more interested because you have lived long enough to have had more unrelated jobs. My CV is 3 pages long because I had a lot to say about my most recent job and I haven't even mentioned my first 3 jobs at all.

Personally I'd always want to see A-level/higher subjects where relevant. I'd say most people still include their grades on CV, whatever their age. For me I like to see school subjects, particularly for English and Maths if not taken at a higher level.

Hobbies don't really play a part in our process, but if you list something like LARPing we'll notice ;-)

What is relevant about A levels if they are in the social sciences lol

Im interested in what I should include when describing he jobs I did. For example one job was an accountants assistant where I literally meet clients and used some software. Do I describe what I was collecting from the clients? I find I’m just making boring sentences

Do you still have the job description? That's sometimes a starting point if its been written well and has a decent duties section.
