Mortgage Application Offer + Large purchase

Hi all,

Just looking for a little advice, as my mortgage advisor is pretty useless.

My partner and I have been accepted for a mortgage with HSBC. We are currently awaiting our sellers responding to enquiries from our solicitors.

I do, however ,want to make a large purchase before the house purchase actually goes through and money is exchanged with the bank.

My question is, will a large purchase at this stage effect our application?

I have seen conflicting information when perusing the internet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :beer:

If the purchase is on credit then yes that could impact if the lenders do a further credit check as it may impact on your affordability.

If you have the money saved up for the purchase and it's not going to impact on your ability to buy your property - im not sure if that would impact.

You probably need to be a bit clearer about the purchase and how you are doing that.

It'd be roughly £5k - and would be outright. No borrowing involved..

I'm being super careful here, as my partner cannot know about it...:o
