Hi all,
I went bankrupt last year, I submitted the forms online on the 4th July, on my online account it says approved and Order Date is the 5th July 2017
I know and understand that it stays on my file for 6 years, but you're discharged after 12 months. I wasn't told that my bankruptcy would be longer than 12 months and I've not had any contact with them since my interview really other than a couple of times I had to send emails to say creditors were still contacting me.
Is that it now ? I'm getting anxious that I'm going to have more phone calls or forms to fill in and cant find any info online.
Also, will I be discharged on the 4th July or the 5th ? the only thing I've found I need to do is contact someone for certificate of discharge, but I wont want to contact them too early.
Many thanks
JJ

It might have already happened. I was actually discharged a couple of months early. I only discovered this when I checked after the full twelve months.
But good luck with the future. The hard part is now over, try to rebuild things. It does take time, but it can be done. Lots of useful help on here if you need it.0 -
You are normally discharged after one year, so in your case July 5th is the magic number.
If there was some problem which meant your bankruptcy were to be extended, the OR would of been in touch with you.
When your credit report is updated, it will of changed to discharged.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. If you go on the Insolvency Service and search for your name, click on your name and it will show your status ie B.R or discharged, you can print this off in case you need it later.0
