Hi,
Got a few questions, any help is greatly appreciated
I am going to go through Tesco Bank car insurance as its the best quoted price, currently I am with direct line and they have offered a renewal at £620, and Tesco are offering £536 with £40 cashback, so just under £500.
My issue is that I have to go direct with Tesco to get the cashback however I have 3 years no claims as I had a booster option with my first year insurance for 10 months insurance with 1 years no claims, Tesco wont accept this directly (but will on price comparison websites) so I have to put 2 years no claims although I have 3 years, will this mean when it comes to renew my policy and if i decide to go elsewhere Tesco will only quote i have 3 years no claims instead of 4? Or does it not work like that.
EDIT - Reason they wont accept is because I havent held my licence for 3 years, I have held for 2 years and 10 months or something like that but I have 3 years no claims
Also, I work for a credit card company collecting debt for people who havent paid, my job title doesnt really come up, i work on the phones however if i put call centre staff it boosts the price up by £100 and if i put credit controller it comes up at a much better price, similar roles though however, do you think this would cause an issue?

If you start the policy with 2 years NCD then assuming no claims for the year you will have 3 years NCD to use at renewal (ie not 4!)0

Won't Direct line issue you with proof of 3 years NCD?0

Read the post again my friend, I will be starting the policy with 3 years NCD however they wont accept 3, they will only accept 2.Won't Direct line issue you with proof of 3 years NCD?
Sorry I guess they will yeah as they accepted the 1 years (10 month booster) no claims when I started the policy with them and gained the other two with them aswell0 -
Only my opinion, but as you technically only have 2 full years NCD, that's all most companies will acknowledge sadly.
Is customer services or customer adviser a job option you can use - covers a multitude of sins!0 -
You'd be better off asking Direct Line rather than Tesco. If DL issue a confirmed 3 year NCB then Tesco should accept it.
As for your job, I think you're the best judge of that. What is your title on your contract? If it's customer service adviser or similar I'd err on the side of caution. If it's 'credit controller' or even 'credit control adviser' then you'd be alright calling your job that.0 -

Collections Agent is my official title, which is kind of dealing with peoples credit in a sense.
But yeah risky ball game0 -
I have read your post - though wasn't posting to you as a friend. If you don't like the message don't get cross with the messenger!Read the post again my friend, I will be starting the policy with 3 years NCD however they wont accept 3, they will only accept 2....
It says Tesco will only let you have 2 years NCD with a policy direct from them.
So if you do start a policy with 2 years as posted you will only have 3 at the end of that policy (wasn't that your question?)0 -

I am not cross at all. I say my friend because its a figure of speech, think you have taken what I have said the complete wrong way. Anyway, I'm not here to argue, I'm here for advice.
I will start the policy with 3 years no claims but just that company in particular wont accept 3 years, what I meant was if at the end of that policy I would have had effectively 4 years no claims bonus (which could be proven), although I'm not sure if insurers would see it this way if that makes sense as I don't know how no claims works.0
