Weekly anounts for SOA

Hi,

Im just getting round to doing my SOA in irder to try clear some credit card debt. I currently pay a weekly amount of child maintenance. So some months there are 4 fridays in yhe month and some momths 5, how do i incorporate this into a monthly SOA?

If i x 52 and divide by 12 its not really a true reflection if that makes sense?

Thanks in advance.

    I hope this makes sense........

What I'd do would be to budget for £x x 52 / 12. During the months that have 4 Fridays, you will have a little left over. That should build up so when you reach a month with 5 Fridays you have all that you need budgeted for.

Or, is the maintenance a private agreement between you and your ex? Would you be able to change it to monthly instead of weekly (by using the x 52 / 12 calculation)?

We have a cash kitty for the weekly food shop of £40. I budget 52 x £40 / 12 in the monthly budget and we withdraw the £40 cash every week at the supermarket. We've never found ourselves short yet so it does work - maybe just make sure you don't start on a five week month!

OP over budget. So for the maintenance payment put the amount for a 5 week month. If you work on that basis you will have covered Christmas for nothing!
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.
