Calculating Pro Rata Salary

I have been given a contract for one term's work in an educational institution and am struggling to understand the salary calculations - can anyone help?
Pro rata salary is £16,750 full time (which I am assuming is 35 hours/week)
Term time is 39 weeks per year.
I will be working 4 days per week (28 hours) for 15 weeks and 1 day (61 days total).
Salary has been calculated based on 28 hours per week over 39 weeks to total £3,294.16
I can't get this to add up. Can anyone show me how this amount has been reached? Thanks!

I'm fairly sure it will be quicker and easier to ask your new employer to 'show their workings'.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I can't work it out either. Are you working 39 weeks a year or just the 15. I can get close to the figure but not exactly. Don't assume it's 35 hours per week, could be 37.5 (like my education based job). Also, factor in your holiday pay too !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Dwy raff yn cydio’n ddolen,
Dau enaid ond un taith.0 -

You need their workings.
with a FTE of 5*7hrs 39 weeks work, £16,750(inc holiday pay), working 4*7hrs 15.2 weeks
You would think the base calculation would be £16,750 * 15.2/39 * 0.8 = £5222.56
£16,750 * 15.2/52 * 0.8 = £4904 (not that)
Now if the £16750 is for 52 weeks full time, term time only on 39 weeks would be 39/46.4 = £14708.56(keeping the 5.6 weeks holiday pay prorata for term time)
£14708.56 * 15.2/39 * 0.8 = £4398.56 (not that)
Which term is 15 weeks work or do you mean 15 weeks elapsed and there is some holiday in there?
most terms have at least a week off.
if really working 61 days for £3294.16 that's a rate of £54pd £6.75ph which is below min wage.

Thank you so much everyone, this is helpful and I will ask them to clarify their calculations. I worked the same job for the same term last year but 35 hours per week, so I was expecting my salary to be roughly 80% of last years now that I am doing 28 hours per week, but despite the pro rata salary increasing, my salary has been reduced by 1/3 (a decrease of £14 per day).
Appreciate the help. thank you.0 -
The term is 16.5 weeks with a half term week unpaid, so when I am calculating 61 days I am totalling actual days worked.0

I suspect someone has messed up.
What calculation did they use last year?
