Debt missing from credit report

Hi

I’ve been steadily paying off my debt with F&F offers, but there’s an MBMA account which is missing off my credit files (I have accounts with Noddle, ClearScore, totally money & the MSE credit club). The debt appears on the clearscore one as arrow global but it’s not been updated since May 2016.

Is this too good to be true? Should I ignore it until the account is removed in 2 years time (maybe squirrel the F&F settlement money away just in case)? I just don’t want to shoot myself in the foot by calling them, but I’m concerned they may go for a CCJ at the last minute?

Thank you, L x

Just because the debt is not showing on your credit report doesn't mean it is not owed. There may be a glitch, or they may just not have reported it for a few months (although they should be doing so).

I can see you say it will be removed from your file in 2 years, so it can't be the case that it defaulted more than 6 years ago and has dropped of your credit file.

No matter whether it shows or not.... you still owe the money and could still be chased for it.

    Hi there,

January2015 makes a good point, and just because a debt doesn't show on your credit file doesn't mean it is unenforceable. Once a debt is sold on to another company the original creditor will no longer report on it, and could show as £0 and 'settled' or 'partially settled'. The debt would then appear under the new owner - in this case - Arrow Global.

The debt will show on your credit file for 6 years from the original default date, or 6 years from the date of settlement if no default is recorded. However, a debt is enforceable under the limitations act for 6 years from when it 'falls due'.

Your signature details the debts you have and what you have paid off (well done) and your post says that you are settling debts through full and final offers, so can you clarify if this means the debts are receiving nothing from month to month and whether or not they are chasing you?
