A great thread and exactly what I'm planning too!
I have a space where I've been buying extra bits for the holidays. I usually make up a caked lunch for the kids ready for the day and have snacks they can have but the rule is 1 of each catogiry a day and some is help yourself. So chocolate bar/biscuits they can have but only 1 a day - fruit bowl/ salad stuff is a free snack.
I buy ice pops and carton juice drinks to freeze if it's hot - just cheap ones.
I try and have a good meal on the evening that we can all eat together and keep it structured like a School day or they would eat all day!
I pay for school dinners for one of mine so I use the £ to add to the shopping to buy extras if I need to - I do try to keep it for ice cream or chips when we are out for a treat tho but it goes further in the supermarket!
