Im a complete lefty and at a recent family event my standard right handed got misplaced. Right I need a new pair of scissors and some kitchen knives and cutlery.. Now!!!8217;s the time to go left
So any recommendations from those who have bought lefty utensils in the past? There seems to be a reasonable selection on Amazon and across the web, but there is nothing to beat personal recommendations. Anyone?
As always many thanks for your replies
Kevin

I understand the scissors but knives and forks don't tend to be left or right0

Yes you can get some, I got my DD from anythinglefthanded.com but I'm not sure they do them now. Will be interested to hear any answers too as she needs some new kitchen stuff.
Ama**n do left handed playing cards too, had a row with someone over those who didn't believe they were any different from Right Handed.Quot Libros, Quam Breve Tempus

Knives are left or right.I am a butcher, and the way I sharpen my knives means there is a left handed bias. That means my knives feel dull to a righty, and theirs dull to me!0 -
But that is due to the way you sharpen. If a right did it then you would find the opposite to be true.
Knives when first bought have been sharpened neutrally when manufactured. It's how you treat them after that applies the bias0 -
Can thoroughly recommend anythinglefthanded.com Used this company for scissors for my dad and nephew and pen, would you believe. They say you can tell the difference.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0

Ha ha! I have never bought a work knife I found sharp,until I re ground it.Its a right handed world I am afraid.0 -
I agree, you can never buy a work knife that is as sharp as you would like whether you are left or right handed. The manufacturers accept that professionals will sharpen them the way they want to the sharpness they want.
I warrant that if you bought a new knife it wouldn't be to the sharpness a right handed butcher wanted either. T0 -
I am left handed and my two sons are aswell. We have never needed left handed knives or forks, didn't even know they did them.Scissors I understand but we just manage with ordinary ones.Potato peelers can be a problem but they do make double sided ones.I really don't see the need for left handed items.0

In fairness,I have always coped with tin openers, scissors and such. However,as a lad I had to learn to fish right handed,as there were no left handed reels back then.It was hard.Same when I started shooting - I could not afford a left handed stock.0 -
I find this fascinating.
I'm a lefty. Fork in left hand, knife in right, unless I'm buttering bread then knife is in left hand. But! If I'm peeling potatoes then knife is in right hand!
If slicing bread/veg then knife is in left hand.
Spoon in left hand.
Scissors in right hand - can't use left handed ones.
I have a butterfly tin opener that I use right handed.
Playing cards are held in my left hand.
Off to check out the left handed shop.0
