state pension notification

Hi - can anyone help me please. I recently applied for my state pension. I have not had any notification of the application to say when I will be paid it. Is it paid in advance or arrears? Also, should i have heard from them to confirm that the application has gone through? Thanks for any help you can give on this.

Is it paid in advance or arrears?

The new State Pension is usually paid every 4 weeks into an account of your choice. You're paid in arrears (for the last 4 weeks, not the coming 4 weeks).

You can ask for it to be paid weekly but this will also be in arrears.

    How did you apply?
If online then there should / will have been a final closing screen confirming your application with a reference number.

    From the link above :

You should get a letter no later than 2 months before you reach State Pension age, telling you what to do.

If you haven!!!8217;t got a letter 2 months before you reach State Pension age, phone the claim line. They!!!8217;ll discuss with you what you need to do.

The first payment probably wont be 4 weeks after your birthday - payments are staggered throughout the week.

Don't forget it also gets paid every 4 weeks -
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Just to state the obvious - are you sure HMRC & DWP have your up to date address. Many people seem to think their employer updates it for them - they don't.

Thanks for all your help. I found a screen dump on my pc and now have the confirmation info and the reference number.
