NHS unsocial hours pay entitlement

I've been working in my job within the NHS since October 2017 and have only been paid once for my unsocial hours (every other weekend). My colleague has told me that I should be entitled to these payments (I wasn't aware that my previous unsocial hours I received were for working my weekend shifts as there was an issue with my roster when I started). I just wanted to clarify that I am in fact entitled to these weekend enhancements before I go to my manger essentially saying they owe me 7 months worth of unsocial hours.

I think it depends on the individual trust. When I worked for the NHS our unsocial hour payments were consolidated into a higher hourly rate a few years ago. It should be in your contract. If you can't find it I would just ring payroll or HR and ask nicely. It is not unusual for longer serving employees to be employed on different terms.

In England, all Non-Medical staff that are not very senior management and who are directly employed by the NHS should be agenda 4 change terms.

Ambulance services do unsocial hours differently.

It is likely that you have been missed but easy to resolve by phoning HR/payroll.
