My husband and I had a mortgage with c&g which got into arrears due to personal problems and we were trying to sort it. 10 years ago hubby and I separated and I stayed in the house and continued paying the mortgage and secured loans attached to it. About 7 years ago I was paying about £700.00 per month and struggling as I was on carers allowance and income support. Then one day I received a letter from them offering to consolidate the arrears and hopefully help me to get straight. I phoned up and was told my new payment would be about £450.00 per month but I had to agree over the phone in order to get that deal. Unfortunately I did not do the calcs myself or I would have realised they were wrong. Anyway week later papers arrived and repayments were nearly £900.00 per month and no going back so basically straight back into arrears. C&G were absolutely useless so I just carried on paying what I could.
fast forward to present day and am only left with mortgage that has 16 months left and a small fees loan. In October oh moved back home ( another story ) so now in the position with 2 incomes to hit the arrears. Agreed a figure back in October and have paid every month on time.
Had a letter in Feb saying that payments for arrears were to be seperated from main payment from June July due to FCA regs. So my agreement ends next week and I have been waiting for a call or letter about this split.
I have spent 2.5 hours on the phone this week to various departments trying to agree a new payment and arrears payment to be told the arrears are now not £5700.00 but £2700 as they did some recalculating ( due to another FCA directive ). So i thought great I can now see the end in sight. My mortgage is now with Lloyds ( transferred from C&G when they split ) so I can see the balance and sub accounts online so queried the balance as the £3000.00 reduction didnt show. They tried to tell me the arrears were seperate but I paid an extra £30.00 to the fees loan last month and this shows as a payment on that sub account but also on the arrears seperate statement I received.Waiting for a call from Lloyds to sort it.
But surely if you see your account online that is the balance including arrears?
And my credit file is showing that my payments are up to date for the last 6 months whereas it was showing in arrears last few years.
Very confused and annoyed with Lloyds!!

If I read this right, you now owe £2700 less than you thought and your credit file appears less bad than it was.
You are annoyed?0 -

No I annoyed because I believe the arrears are included in the balance shown online but they wont clarify it. Of course I am overjoyed if £3000.00 has been written off0
