CCJ Increase in Payment

Hi All
I had a CCJ issued at year and the court had ordered me to pay £1 per month due to my current debt levels and current salary. The company dealing Restons have now said I need to increase my payment to £40 following a review of my circumstances
Nothing has changed since I completed the original paperwork but they are now saying
Clothing and Footwear at the rate of £94.00 per month.
- Hobbies, Leisure and Sport at the rate of £29.00 per month.
Are to high, these were based on the step change figures.
Are they able to demand more money??
Thanks in advance
Rob

only the court can order you to pay more. chancers like restons will do their best make/bully you do so informally, but you can tell them no.
if the court set £1 a month as a genuine rate based on your circumstances restons would be idiots to try to get the court to change that
restons got the nickname 'rectums', as that is what they talk out of.Still rolling rolling rolling...... <

Hi Hp7166
Rizla is spot on - that payment rate can only be varied if Restons apply to the court, and they would have to pay for the privilege. Some debt collectors will, as standard procedure, contact you every six months or so regardless as part of a general sweep to try and persuade a few more £££ out of you. You should simply focus for now on continuing to pay at the rate set by court.

No, don`t waste a phone call on them, they will only try and coax more money out of you.
If you must respond to them, a simple letter will suffice, stating your payments will continue at the rate set by the court until further notice, thank you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi All
A followup to this, Yesterday I had a General Form of Judgement or Order and a Notice of Transfer of Proceedings from the court,
The transfer says
As a result of a order made on 15th August this claim has been transferred to the county court of Port Talbot Justice Centre
The General Form doesn't really say much except the case has been transferred to county court
I have told Restons that the payments would continue and they have
I am scared and confused, going to call them today and find out what they are playing at as I have had no communication since
Does anyone know what these letters mean???
Thanks for you help

Presumably Port Talbot Justice Centre is your local court?
I would imagine that Restons have made an application to vary the payment amount - ring the Justice Centre and they'll be able to let you know why it's been transferred to them.0 -
Thank you will do it this morning0
