FGW & Group travel

My friend and I are off to London from Cardiff in mid September. The total for booking 2 tickets on the FGW website is £157.60. However, if I change the number of people to '3', the price is £156. I know that this is because a group discount applies but does anyone know how I can get cheaper fares for just 2 people travelling?
Many thanks

You could get a Two Together Railcard. This costs £30 but would still save you money. It's valid for a year if you want to do any more travel together.
