Replacing just the hose on a Dyson vacuum cleaner

Any ideas where I can buy flexible hose for a Dyson vacuum cleaner "by the metre" - ie without end fittings?

Genuine Dyson replacement assemblies are expensive (£25 plus) and generic ones get a significant proportion of bad reviews for poorly fitting end mouldings.

The obvious thing to do is to replace just the hose. There is a good instructable (MSE won't allow a link but it is easily Googleable: try "Instructable fix a Dyson Vacuum hose") showing how to take one end cap off (and I am guessing that the other end will be very similar) - which is fine if your hose has a split near the end.

If your hose is split nearer the middle, you need a new length of hose. But where can I buy decent-quality stretch hose that will fit the Dyson end pieces? My model is DC14 but I am pretty sure that a whole family of Dyson models must share the same hose diameter.

I have used Qualtex branded Dyson hoses with no quality problems, I reckon the replacement hose was equivalent to the original.
