got the wii - now what else do I need to buy?

I have finally managed to get a Wii (Christmas present for son). I have bought the basic Wii console with Wii Sports Game from Argos (£179). I'm not sure what else I need to get, apart from a couple of games obviously. Is it true that you need an extra remote to have a 2-player game? What is a Nunchuck, will there be one in the box and if not, is it vital? Thanks in advance for your words of wisdom.

  • Hi Buyitall,

I bought my Wii 2 weeks ago, so will try to shed a light...

Basically, in your Wii-packet, you will have 1 normal remote and 1 Nunchuck. This is just for 1 player. For some games you will only need the normal remote, for other games you will need the normal remote and the Nunchuck.

For example: In Wii sports, you can play all games with just the normal remote, except from Boxing. As you will be using both hands for this, you will need the normal remote in one hand, and the Nunchuck in the other.

So if you wanna be able to play all games with 2 people, or against eachoterh (i.e. boxing), you will need to purchase another normal remote and anoter Nunchuck.

    Hope this helps

Thank you so much gerrymino, a great explanation, even I could understand!
  • I've got a Wii and would recommend that you buy another Nunchuk (£14.99) and another controller. I would buy the Wii Play pack as that comes with Wii play and a controller for around £34.99.

I'd recommend Big Brain academy too if you've got kids as my 2 love it!
