The slaughter in state workhouses continues:
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/07/03/female-health-worker-arrested-suspicion-murdering-eight-babies/
Needless to say, the heroes of the public sector are quick to demand more money:
The RCPCH report, which found "no definitive explanation" for the deaths, also warned that staffing levels on the ward were "inadequate"
I've got a better idea. Instead of more money and more jobs, how about more prison sentences for corporate manslaughter in the public sector? Why don't we try that? A few fatcat public sector knights of the realm doing a ten-stretch would focus their minds without the need for any more staff a all. If it's good enough for private companies, why not the NHS?0 -
NHS world's biggest fax machine buyer due to 'stubborn' resistance to new technology, say medical leaders
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/07/11/nhs-worlds-biggest-fax-machine-buyer-due-stubborn-resistance/
The NHS is buying more fax machines than any other organisation in the world due to a !!!8220;stubborn!!!8221; resistance to new technology, medical leaders have said.
A report by the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) has revealed !!!8220;farcical!!!8221; reliance of the outdated equipment, with one hospital trust alone using more than 600 fax machines.
So they stick to obsolete and inefficient technology, meaning more headcount required. Golly, it's almost as though the staff of the NHS run the NHS for the benefit of the staff! But that couldn't happen, surely?0 -
I'm surprised that the National Health Service's 70th anniversary propastravaganza hasn't paused to celebrate the fact that the NHS is responsible for the first and second most prolific serial killers in British history (1st and 4th in world history, if Wikipedia is to be believed).
Please don't try to tell me that it was an accident and that trained doctors aren't aware that if you give someone too much morphine, they die.0
