I spotted the Tefal FV2660 Ultraglide Anti-Scale Steam Iron on Argos at £44.99, a price that Argos claims is 25% off. At Currys, though, this highly rated iron is only £37.99, which they say is £12 off.
Imagine my surprise to see the same iron on Ocado at only £22.49! So, I took the plunge and made my first ever Ocado order. I added some other items to take advantage of free delivery, and received it today, just a day later.
The iron seems very good, and has a much better anti-scale solution than my previous Tefal iron, which died a couple of days ago.

How bad is it that I have bought this now for when my current iron dies, which it inevitably will do, due to hard water that kills all my irons eventually.

I know what you mean, they seem to expire not too long after the two-year guarantee period. I'm tempted to get another one at this price for the same reason as you!
I'm very impressed so far, the steam function is much more effective, making ironing quicker and easier. Pity there's no cord tidy, though.0 -
