First Direct - missed a step?

I've looked at some other threads about the whole mortgage application process with First Direct but my concern is that they mentioned an AIP and sending off documents...none of which I have had yet. They messed up, I was supposed to have another telephone appointment tomorrow but they rang me today to say that this was an error because they already have all my documentation and everything else they need.

I had to wait 2 weeks to find this out so a 2 week delay for nothing. They now say they'll pass my application to the underwriters.
