I currently have debt with 4 creditors but no longer showing on my credit file as the debt was is over 6 years old.
Would I still need to declare this on my mortgage application?
Thanks in advance

I would - saves having to at a later date that they will find anyway and query why it wasn't added on application.0

100% Yes. It doesn't matter if it isn't on the file, it is a debt you have to pay, so yes it must be declared.0

If you only had to declare what was on your credit file, they would not ask you for the information - they would just pull it from your credit file.
You have to declare it.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Hi
Thanks to all for clarifying this. I still pay a minimal amount towards the debt so thought Id check as it is a visible outgoing on my statements anyway.
Thanks again0 -
Failure to do so is technically fraud. Not the way to start a long term financial relationship. Answer all the questions on the application form truthfully.
Lenders, who are members of the Cpouncil of Mortgage Lenders (CML) share such data through National Hunter.
