Jobseeker's allowance

Hi,
I applied for jobseeker's allowance a month ago..
I have all documents they need.
Only thing that's missing is landlords statement that I'm living in the apartment that he is renting.
He says that he can't sign any documents because this apartment is not on papers,I have letters from bank and P45,P60.. on every letter is this address, but he won't sign anything because he's afraid that he can be changed ..I am working only 2 days per week, and it's impossible to pay the rent with that.. I'm living with 2 other people who are really understandable, but I'm just so annoyed and don't know what to do

I think he means that the Landlord won't provide him with a Tenancy Agreement. Something that he'd need to be able to claim LHA.0

I think you're right - but also that the LL won't so do because, for some reason, he wants the rental "under the radar". Maybe it's in a location that requires landlord/property registration and the landlord hasn't done this?
The reference to "living with 2 other people" could indicate that it's an unlicenced HMO?0 -
Report it to HMRC and your local council, they may have some licensing going on, which your landlord must be subject to.
If he is not prepared to sign any papers then you can be evicted at will. You do not have any security of tenure not even six months.
Keep a record of what you pay him and when, preferably bank transfer would be best.
If he won't even sign a statement to say that he's evicting you, then there will be no help from the Local Authority at all and I despise landlords like that. He's not helping you at all, he's taking you for a ride.
What Jobseekers need is proof of address, this would come in the form of a utility bill or such like in your name, perhaps even a bank statement. You can waive the interest in LHA in order to progress the claim and claim LHA yourself. As others have indicated they will require the tenancy agreement.0 -

Does your landlord live with you? If not, does he rent the apartment and is subletting to you and the others?
