SAD lights

Now that the dark evenings are here again I know my winter blues (AKA seasonal affective disorder) will be here soon too.
I want to try a special lightbox, the theory is it provides natural spectrum light and tricks your brain into thinking it's still summer so you stay happy.
As with anything, once you mention medical the price shoots up. The cheapest I have seen any kind of SAD lightbox is about £100. That kind of price does not make me feel happy!
Anyone know of a good source of cheap SAD stuff? Or indeed does anyone know what kind of bulbs they use and I will knock something up myself.

arent daylight bulbs supposed to be good for this too? I think they are also used by crafts people.
Have you had a look at the website of the s. a.d. association-sada0 -
There was a cheap on on hotukdeals he other week for about £40 but can I hell us find it now, I thought at the time that it was dead cheap because these are normally quite expensive0

perhaps they are, I'm not sure. I've actually got a daylight bulb in the room I call my office but it's not bright enough and it's not in my direct line of vision.
If that is what is in the SAD lights then I am halfway there!0 -

HI AllYou currently receive 1000 points back if you purchase a SAD lamp from Boots. http://www.boots.com/brandtreatment/flexible_brand_treatment.jsp?classificationid=1050596"Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering"0

If the cold months get you down and you long for summer climes, it might not be heat you are yearning for, but light.
Scientists say that it's the short days and long nights of winter that create a biochemical imbalance in the part of the brain that regulates many body functions, including sleep, moods and energy levels.
I paid over £100 for each of these items
they were worth every penny though :j:j
