Old CRT TV's

I've got three old CRT televisions which I've taken out of our attic.
Is there any disposal route for them other than the dump?
They are old, two are very old. All are old 13" models, pre remote control era.
And a shame to skip them ,but i doubt anyone would want them and I think some charity shops do not take electrical items. Or am I mistaken and there is a way to recycle them.

Not certain about whether it's true in NI but here (SE England) there are cages specifically for TVs, and I believe they recycle the lead out of the CRT screens (there is apparently a lot of lead in them). So the local tip may (if also true in NI) be the best way to recycle them properly.0

The British Heart Foundation took mine, though admittedly that was a couple of years ago.0

Yes local tips have cages for CRT TV's but not sure what happens to them. To be honest if they are not in your way in the attic I would just leave them. In a few more years things like that will have some sort of value to collectors etc. Your kids or grandkids may appreciate a little windfall sometime in the futureI started out with nothing......And still have most of it left:p0

I would take them to your local recycling centre and get rid. All the local centres that I have been in, have an area for TV's.
The way technology is moving forward I cannot see any benefit in holding on to them for the future.
If you do decide to hold on to them, I would keep them somewhere other than the attic. Attic's are prone to wide variations in temperature and humidity.
I used to have an old black and white TV that was 405 lines. I believe the last 405 line broadcast was in the 1980's even though 625 lines took over in the mid 60's. Apparently 405 line transmission was itself known as HD at the time! Things have moved on a bit since then.0
