GDB2222, no income? What about your state pension +20 years earlier?

This gives some approximate different projections based on portfolio and performance.

The problem with all these calculators is that, to a greater or lesser extent, it is difficult to reflect other income that you may have, e.g. from DB pensions. At the moment, most potential retirees will have one or more DB pensions, plus a potentially variable entitlement to the state pension.

At least the TPT calculator tries to address sequence of return risk via its "Pessimistic" projection - some might argue that their assumption for the Pessimistic projection is still very optimistic. (Reliable returns of 7% pa for 9 years, and then a drop of 10% (-10%) in the 10th year and that this cycle repeats every 10 years.

http://www.cfiresim.com/ allows you to enter the details of any other income you have, how this might change over time, and to simulate outcomes using historic (US) stock and bond market returns.

That's the "optimistic" projection. The "pessimistic" has a 30% drop in the first year and then every 10 years after.
