Good luck with the new project I hope it's fruitful for you. Clothes are one thing we don't budget for, we don't really get a lot and then we seem to need loads all at once. Really should put it in but there is simply no room! Uniform shopping tomorrow for my 2, not going to pretty as ds needs a whole new set for high schol plus shoes.

Thank you!! I feel so much better and like a completely different person if I am honest. I have always wanted to travel more and proved to myself that we are capable of achieving our dreams if we strategise focus and commit. X

    Morning all

Busy few days and now a day of housework treats for the week ahead!! Woohoo!!

Husband and I have decided a way forward on the topic of debts vs home DIY. We are going to pay off the following then save up for the first big project....

    My saints card £279
    His HSBC card £1600
    His overdraft £1600

    Totally doable by Christmas.

In the meantime we may paint another room and finish off a few small jobs like pictures in frames done desperately needed towels and sheets. Etc etc.

Husband gets paid on Friday so 4 days to go before this new lifestyle of ours officially starts!!

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine!!

Glad you've got a nice plan to break it up into chunks of debt repayment and home improvements. It's a nice split and hopefully makes each section more achievable than it would be if you looked at it as one big picture of debt/ costs. Good luck :)

    Evening diary!

What a lovely bank holiday weekend - weather wise!

We have blown the budget today and spent£75 on a day out to to beach. We took £20 out cash which i hoped would cover it but then went to the pub with friends and had drinks and then fish and chips for dinner tonight.

This money was the rest of husbands August pay and we still have 3 days left until his sept payday so I will have to use my spending money to buy us food as I am loathe to use my credit card to do this.

It will mean a very frugal shopping trip to Aldi tomorrow.

In other news, I have my last two sessions of tutoring left this week. I spent the first £100 on our holiday. The second £100 is going in the bank towards our next adventure or funding my business idea.

We have also decided to go on holiday with friends on a British seaside holiday next year. We have worked out a budget to hire a cottage - £600-£700. They want to book quite quickly so will need to find a share of a deposit soon.

LOADS to do this week. Must go to bed as very tired.
