    Hi,

I have natural, blonde hair which is turning / turned grey (with some streaks of pure white). My hairdresser uses Maria Nila purple shampoo:

100% vegan too. Unfortunately, it is not cheap.

Forget to say - don't use it everyday though as it will turn your hair purple.

Lush Daddy-O or Milkshake silver shine are my favourites.

My sister used to swear by one from Wella. I think she had to order it online- it wasn't available to buy in stores (and we're in London- generally if you want anything, someone somewhere in London will sell it to you). She'd tried a large range of others (eg Lush, various high street types...etc and said none worked).
  • I've had success with the Provoke Touch of Silver shampoo - it's not expensive.

Just don't use it more than the twice a week recommendation, I ended up slightly blue once!

There are two types of the Provoke silver shampoo. One is the twice a week treatment and they also do a silver shampoo and conditioner for everyday use. Really cheap. For example last week in B&M, £1.99. Worth a try. My husband and I both use it and we are a pair of silver foxes!!

Bleach London do both a shampoo and conditioner, available in Boots.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)
  • John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew shampoo and conditioner is really good. I've used this for ages. I never have an issue with my blonde using it.

Oligo or Joico for sure. But are you Brassy Yellow or Orange?

Yellow. The sun has made it worse. Hair is highlighted
