Its a bit of a cottage industry. Small local firms of 1-5 advisers dominate the marketplace. So, your recommendation is a bit like asking the web what your butcher is like at the end of your street.
There are very few issues in respect of mortgage brokers. Main ones are
a) avoid estate agents (except small local independents who also use independent advisers).
b) be clear on the mortgage adviser fee. Most are reasonable but there are some greedy sods. City firms tend to be more expensive than rural.
c) make sure they are independent/whole of market in all areas. Not just the mortgage.
Look at your local firms. Those within a few miles. Always handy to have the broker nearby in case you need to drop something in or they can collect it. Not necessary but a nice to have.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
