CCA Request - who should provide?

Hi all, some great advice on this forum so thanks for this. A quick question for now though please as I have written to Westcot to ask for a copy of the agreement under CCA section 77/78 and they have written back to say I need to obtain this from the card originator (MINT). Question is why? I have a letter from MINT saying that Cabot are now the 'legal owners of the debt'. Cabot has since said 'Your account is being looked after by Wescot'. All a bit of a merry-go-round!
To me it looks like Westcot have the legal responsibility but can anyone help here - should I go back to MINT or pursue via Westcot still?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
What you have to realise is that these companies do not go in for the niceties of paperwork.
Mint still hold your original credit agreement.
You make the request to whoever is asking you for money, in this case Wescot, it is there responsibility to pass this back to Cabot and then for them to pass back to Mint.
That is how the process, under sec 77/79 works.
However to save time you could send directly to Mint.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
