Clydesdale Mortgage???

Has anyone applied for and been accepted for a mortgage with Clydesdale Bank recently - I keep reading horror stories of how long it takes to get an offer through.
Just wondered if anyone had a positive experience using them recently and roughly how long from application being submitted to receiving an offer?
Our application was submitted two weeks ago via broker and to date no credit checks showing on our files and no valuation has been arranged - getting a bit nervous!!

I have had an application in with Clydesdale for 8 weeks.
They did the credit check with call credit and valuation within the first 3 days.
They said that it passed underwriting 2 weeks ago and offer letter was being sent out the next day.
Everyday for 2 weeks they have said it will be sent today and it just doesnt come.
Broker has said they are prioritising sending offers out where exchange of contracts is within 1 week!!!!!
They credit checked us again this week with experian.
I have given up thinking about it now as every day they just say the same thing.
Its very frustrating.
The broker is pulling his hair out.0 -

Good deals and self employed I believe.
I have a 999 experian credit score so I would assume they are not after sub prime.0 -

Need more than a week for due process to be completed and exchange of contracts to be made. Without a mortgage offer they'll be no discussion as to exchange date at all.
Are you sure that's what your MB precisely said?0 -

Thats what he said.
He also said that if I get my solicitors to write a letter confirming we need the mortgage offer as we are exchanging within a week that might help.
I am only going by what I have been told.0 -

I'm sorta self employed (ltd. contractor) and my MB got me 0.2% better rate (2 years fixed) with Nationwide, than what Clydesdale website is giving me with the same numbers. Granted the rate might be better through MB, but still doesn't look spectacular.0 -
Finally got an update, they picked it up for underwriting last week and have just instructed valuation - so things seem to be moving just not very fast!
From the posts I’ve read they seem to do things in different orders for different people which is a bit odd - I’ve been told by MB they underwrite>valuation>credit score in that order but others seem to be different!0
