Shut up, why don't you? I'm just here to air an idea, not to chat with a witch with a broomstick up her jacksy!

So that definitely makes the answer to your original question:

No, there are no union reps able to help.

(And probably no non-union people either).
  • I would say that as the person you want time off to look after is a non relative your case to pick & chose your day off is diminished.

It depends mostly on which (if any) requests so far have been formal change of contracted hours or not.

Second the idea that it's cheeky to start a thread asking for reps when you're not a member - especially in a unionised workplace.
    Union official.
    CiPD qualified.

Anything I post is solely MY OPINION. It never constitutes legal, financial or collective bargaining advice. I may tell you based on information given how I might approach an employment dispute case, but you should always seek advice from your own Union representative. If you don't have one, get one!

They were in a union in March, but are not now apparently. I!!!8217;m assuming that falls into the same category as parents being dead and needing to care for mum (oh sorry ex partners mum...)

Actually, you don't want to work as much, or pay a union subscription.

If you accepted a change of hours to include Tuesdays, you can't just tell them you are reverting to what you worked previously. You can request a change and put forward a justification but can't demand. The employer is not obliged to allow it if it has a detrimental effect on the running of the business / organisation.
If you are just rejoining the union after a lengthy gap I very much doubt the union will do much to support you. Much as I have never been a great supporter of unions they are there for their members who pay their dues. Otherwise it would be like only getting car insurance after you've had an accident.

Look at other threads by the OP, seriously too much time on their hands :rotfl: They NEED that Tuesday to sort out the royal mail/post office and their employees.
