Many magazines will pay for letters that they publish.
They want letters from their readers, not professionals.
Payments might be in cash (£20 to £100s depending on magazine)
Payments can be goods (Radio Times give a fab radio for each week's Star Letter)
Everyone has little anecdotes they could write up.
I've run workshops on this subject, and I still get people reporting their successes. You can do it!

Would be interested to learn more.
look at the letters page in any magazine you read and work out what they want from a letter. Sorry if this sounds vague, but ir varies from one mag to another.
