    MikeD,

Wouldn't dream of entering into a discussion on the worth of the euro as opposed to sterling....makes it much easier to visit EU countries other than the UK...no exchange involved.

Rosieben...I miss most our lovely Irish coins and really see no reason why we couldn't have kept the images while changing to different euro values...we managed it when we went decimal in 1971..

Haven't spent any money since Monday, think that I will have to get a few things over the next week, but it is 22nd!

    Hi Flossyblog,

I am actually German, and have introduced my brother to Yorkshire tea....
Now, everytime we go over or we get visitors, he can have some tea.

Also, I find it isn't that much to post.... So, if I ever can help you out, let me know. :D

Even though I haven't done the November challenge, I am keeping a record anyhow. I am doing not as good as I wanted too. (I haven't added it up yet, but just looking at it, I know.......)

One excuse is, we've bought reusable nappies for DS 2. It will work out cheaper in the long run, but was lots to pay out in one go. :j

But, next month should be easier, as most of the xmas shopping has been done......

Well done for switching to reusable nappies. I'm horrified at how much it costs to keep a child in disposables, bit of a nightmare for anyone's budget! ;)
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

    Something weird I am discovering....

My freezer seems to be like a shopping trolley - once you take stuff out, it never fits back in the way it did before (if at all!). I have been eating out of it for the month and it still looks full... all I have added (and promtly removed) is a few hm ready meals

I have spent 17p on tomato puree. I thought it was a tube and it turned out to be a can (there was no picture on the online ordering ) and £1 on some organic carrots.

I have five days left. Next month will definitely be another low budget month. I already have everything in that I need for Christmas so that won't be a problem.

  • Just totted up week 3 - £56.59 & we are eating well, proper meals all made from scratch, a little easier as I am working a bit less, but still nice food - all from "proper" shops as opposed to (not so) Supermarkets!!
Looks like the budget is going to be well under this month. I shall do 1 more Mr. T online shop, probably Monday, but thats all. I feel quite proud that I have at last got a handle on the housekeeping side of things (only got married 28 years ago......... I'm a bit of a slow learner!)

Love Suzi (did I say that I love this site?) xx
  • Payday for me so I've finished my November - after a scary big spending start I managed to make it through, spending £76 out of a budget of £80. All I have to say is thank goodness for frozen veg!! I've also discovered that Sunday afternoon is a great time to go to my local Tesco as they have loads of reduced meat.

The next couple of months are a bit strange as I get paid a week early in December, so I'm going to lump them together and set a budget of £100 for two months - I'm well stocked up on cleaning products and most toiletries, plus I'm away from home for at least a week so that should work out OK.
Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012.

Argh, I had to go back to the shops this morning !

DS needed to take in a packet of biscuits for a school party today (we only got told yesterday) and of course, I had eaten all that we had.

But we only bought the biscuits (79p), and we all walked to the shops before school started :D .

Not doing too bad - got £23 for this week, but only need bread, sausages, mayo, mushrooms and eggs, though as I have the weekend to myself I might pay a visit to a butcher that has been recommended to me and see what beef he has for Xmas day (our contribution to Mum and Dads Turkey dinner), so may go over!

    C xx
