Mortgage Application (Electoral Roll)

Hi,
My girlfriend and I have planned to move out of my parents house into a shared ownership flat. As I will be going to university in September without a secure income the mortgage will be in her name completely and I will have to offically move in at a later time.
We have spoken to a financial advisor about the property and she has ticket every checklist necessary for her to complete the application and secure the property.
However, she has been living at my parents house with me for the last 4 years whilst being registered on the Electoral Roll at her mothers address.
There has been a miss-communication recently and her mother has now taken her off the Electoral Roll and back-dated it the last four years, thus resulting in a rebate.
As she has not been registered at my parents address for the last four years we believe this will have a huge impact on the mortgage application as she will not get a credit rating.
We are going to speak to our advisor to see what are potential options are but wondered if there was anything else possible? (Not sure if it is worth mentioning but registered on the Electoral Roll for our current house is my mother, myself and my sister, so I believe there would not be a cost to add my girlfriend onto it?)
I apologise if some of this is completely wrong, I’m very new to it all!
Thanks for reading and I look forward to any responses!

There is no cost for being on the electoral roll, and no rebate for coming off it.
If your girlfriend's mother lives alone, what she may have done is tell the council that your gf moved out four years ago, triggering the single person discount for council tax. But that wouldn't affect your credit score - it's the electoral roll which counts.
However, I'm not sure that previous editions of the electoral roll would be updated, so get your gf added at your family home, and see what happens - speak to your adviser too of course.Signature removed for peace of mind0
