Do you need to inform the lender about renovation?

Hello. I recently purchased a home and having lived in it for a few months, would like to renovate it. Some of the changes involve structural work. I want to open the wall between the kitchen and living room, expand the main bathroom a bit, and make some changes to the extension (enclose a porch to add sliding glass patio doors and replace the columns with steel beams so the space is more open).
The structural engineer said that planning permission isn't required and of course everything would be done according to building regulations.
Do I need to ask the mortgage lender for permission to do this? It says we need to ask them for "significant changes" that affect its structure but I'm not sure if this work qualifies.
Thanks.

You need to ask your lender if it considers what you are doing as "significant changes" as it's a bit beyond the scope of an internet message board.I am a mortgage broker.
