Hello,
We had an AIP and then went to First Mortgages and they told us there and then that we had been accepted with Halifax.
I said, does this mean we have the mortgage and he said definitely yes?
Is this correct? He said I should have my letter of offer in a few weeks time, but does this mean it goes to the underwriter and if they find something then we might not be offered or does this mean the underwriter has done it already and accepted?
Sorry I realise this probably seems straight forward.

After we had our AIP we then had too go through a full mortgage application which included some more bits of info?
If its a Mortgage offer that has been accepted then the underwriters would have already seen the application as far as I'm awareFinally completed on our new home

Hi,
Yeah we handed over payslips etc. Fingers crossed then, I'm such a worrier and fell in love with the development plans so I don't think I'll believe it until I see the offer in writing!!0 -
We also got ours the same day with Halifax though our broker - he said he talks to the underwriters on the phone whilst they do the application, so he can answer any questions they may have etc. Like you, we are waiting on the agreement to be sent over. Good luck!0

A lot of Halifax business goes nowhere near a human being.
I submitted an application on Friday. I submitted one payslip and certified ID and phoned for the "initial checks" to be done.
Once they were finished, the valuation was instructed and the application was "approved subject to valuation."
If your application is referred to a Business Assessor at the outset (underwriter to you and me) as everything comes in, it has to be referred back and signed-off before moving to the next step.I am a mortgage broker. Mortgage advisor has advised us that our mortgage is agreed subject to evaluation as well so I’m sensing everything is okay and I have a home to move into next year.
It’s the most nerve wracking experience I’ve ever been involved in and if it wasn’t for this site I’d have been clueless. Think sometimes people forget first time buyers don’t always understand it all! Thanks to you all for the help0
