  • Homemade burgers. Beef ones, lamb ones. Or mix different types of mince: my son did a pork, turkey and apricot burger which was lovely.

Fish pie ( buy the fish frozen from supermarket, its much cheaper that way.)

    Stews and casseroles

Worth keeping in some frozen veg - peas, mixed veg, sweetcorn, etc. to make sure there are some around when you're too tired to prep anything.

Incidently, I line my dishes carefully with foil, grease that well, and then put in my fish/cottage pie and stews, then put the dish in the freezer. Once you've got your frozen brick, you can take the dish out, wrap said brick up properly, and put that in the freezer. When it comes out again, I slide it back into the dish, still in its foil.I usually slide all of it into the oven as I turn it on to avoid the cold glass on a hot shelf scenario. It keeps your dishes in circulation!

    Fashion on the Ration - 27.5/66 ( 5 - shoes, 1.5 - bra, 11.5 - 2 pairs of shoes and another bra, 5- t-shirt, 1.5 yet another bra!) 3 coupons swimming costume.

I'm not a parent and I couldn't ever be, but you are so right!

So that I am not hijacking a thread, I recommend cooking a large chicken, freeze in portions to use as cold chicken salad, mixed as a topping on jacket potatoes, sandwiches, what ever you fancy
  • Things that can be eaten with one hand.

Spaghetti needs 2, if you add meatballs, you'll need six arms, one for holding baby, one for the bottle, one for your plate, one for the spoon, one for the fork and one to clean up the cold spaghetti and meatballs dropped down your front.

So things with chunks that can be stabbed with a fork, won't drip hot liquid and taste OK lukewarm/cold as well as hot.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
