Hello,
Has anyone got a recipe for a tomato sauce? I'm making meatballs.
Something not too tomato-y if possible.
I've tried a couple from the web but they're really sharp.
Thanks.

Tinned Tomatoes, some frozen spinach, onions, oxo cube. Add garlic and chili to taste! If you are worried about the chili, try it on your children first! If you want a larf, add cherry toms, whole. they squirt when in a sauce.
Oh, chop the tinned toms!0 -
Sounds good, thank you.0

A little sugar enhances the sweetness, a little milk/cream makes it not quite as sharp. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I tried this and it was good, although the calories in it put me off a little

when cooking a tomato sauce for meatballs, I do the usual, tin of toms, herbs, salt, pepper and sugar, then I add a couple of anchovies.
really makes a big difference0
