Found the following in the Hull Daily Mail:
Does the thought of having a smart meter in your home fill you with fear? Maybe you were once keen, but have since seen negative news reports that have made you think twice.
Whether you'er dead-set against them, or just a bit unsure, if you haven't yet had a smart meter installed in your home and have been put off the idea by some of the adverse stories you've heard, you could be eligible to earn £500.
That's how much we're paying each of our soon-to-be-appointed Smart Meter Opponents - otherwise known as SMOPs - to work with us as we set about presenting our readers with everything they need to know about the biggest shake-up to hit the energy sector in decades.
We're looking for SMOPs who are hungry for knowledge about smart meters, intent on separating facts from myths, and determined to uncover the real story behind the headlines.
Over the next few weeks our selected SMOPs will become real-life consumer champions, calling on the help of a panel of experts to get to the heart of the matter as they question, challenge, research and ultimately draw conclusions about how smart meters will affect both our lives and the world around us.
You'll want to find out whether they could increase your energy bills, put the health of you and your family at risk, and drain or preserve our energy reserves.
As a SMOP you'll also want to discover answers to questions such as how to switch suppliers once a smart meter has been installed, how the gadget could help us to make long-term savings, and whether or not smart meters make us more vulnerable to cyber crime.
Not only will our chosen SMOPs be part of an important fact-finding mission, they'll also walk away armed with enough knowledge to make an informed decision about whether or not smart meters will make a positive difference to our lives or cause more trouble than they're worth.
If you want to get involved, just email SMOP@reachplc.com by 23:59pm on June 11, 2018 and tell us why you think you qualify as a bona fide SMOP. Don't forget - there's £500 in it for you if you're selected.

Sounds a bit weird this one. Not really a competition, more of a recruitment advert. The bitter taste of poor quality lingers long after the sweet taste of cheap price has faded away. :wall:0
