That comment is not only well out of order but unjustified.

It was thoroughly well merited. (Note: the censorship software here appears to be American.)

You'd have thought that Lehman Brothers might have taught people not to make assertions about how financial institutions can't get into hot water. Or RBS. Or Northern Rock. Or Bank of Scotland. Etc, etc.

I think I am gradually discovering this! Eldest is already demanding an iphone (not gonna happen!)

I am always amazed that people feel the need top control their children's phones. Why argue with and try and control your kids? I give my kids proper pocket money and they get money for birthdays and christmas. They buy their phones. They research them thoroughly, decide how much of their money they want to spend and have never bought iphones because they can get others that are better for less money. They look after them really well because if they break them they have to pay for another. They tell me some of their friends break their iphones on purpose because they know their parents will then buy them the latest version.

You are insulting me because I don’t believe that the risks of a major platform business or major asset manager going under equate to those of the banks engaged dodgy lending and asset backed loans in pre-2008? Thanks for your input.
